Current Format

The tournament is a two-day pairs tournament. The scores from day 1 and 2 are added together to determine the winners. Over the 40 years there have been a number of different tournament formats however over the past few years we have had the following:

Saturday – Day 1: Combined Stableford. The individual scores of both players are added together at the conclusion of the round.

Sunday – Day 2 – Better Ball Stableford. This format takes the best score between the pair from each hole. This is then added to the Saturday team score.

After two days of competition in glorious conditions the 2023 Skyline Queenstown Charity Classic winners are Todd Marshall and Dean Ruske from Taieri Lakes Golf Club.

The three-way tie for the winners saw Todd and Dean edge out the teams of Dwayne Turnbull/Damian Petre and Kaz Chappell/Mike Frisby in countback using the first-round 4BBB scores to break the tie of 123 points per team.

The weekend was an overwhelming success for the golfers and the Whakatipu Reforestation Trust who benefited from a donation of $26,000 from Skyline and Queenstown Golf Club and an additional surprise $5000 from Altitude Brewing presented by Eddie Gapper.
